The Seasonal Bar · № IV
The Summer Terrace
Some afternoons are too bright for the candlelit room — so we open the terrace. This is the daylight shelf: tall coolers, garden lemonades, and one color-changing pour that does its best work in the sun. Everything here is built for pitchers, porch shade, and the long, slow hours when nobody's checking the time.
The Host's Notes
Ice is an ingredient
Double what you think you need, then add a tray. Summer drinks die of dilution or warmth — big cubes fight both.
The Cucumber Mint Cooler, № 05Pitcher in the morning, porch by four
Everything on this shelf except the sparkling topper can be mixed at breakfast and chilled. Add bubbles at the table and you host from a chair.
Do the color change in daylight
The Butterfly Pea Lemonade's blue-to-violet bloom reads ten times better in the sun. Pour it in front of people; that's the whole trick.
The Showpiece, № 08Garnish from the garden
Mint, basil, and thyme are at their loudest in July. Whatever you're growing is the right garnish — that's the terrace rule.
